Response to marXist

I think that you can see a few aspects of Marx’s socialism in the life of Malcolm X. X was always a very strong proponent of working together for the greater good of the society. I don’t think Marx would have agreed that it would have worked to just have one race work together, for I think he would have wanted everyone, no matter their ethnicity, to work together. Malcolm wanted everyone to be equal in their wealth and stature, another component of Marxist Socialism. 

I do personally think that the biggest link between Malcolm X’s preaching and Marxist socialism is the ever so popular class struggle. I can see similarities between the two figures. Malcolm speaks of raising the standards of the African American community to be equal to that of the whites. Marx wants the Proletariat (worker) to rise up and be equal to the Bourgeoisie (owners). This seems like an arguable topic, but it’s interesting to see the correlations.
