Last week in class we talked about the reasons as to why religion exists in society. We said that religion exists because of norm, for a purpose, for happiness, for ffear of ostricism, for some sort of code, and for the unknown which could be birth or death. We also continued talking about the story of Muhammad. We ended the class knowing that Muhammad is trying to tell the people that they should not worship idols anymore and that they should go back to believing in their religion.

The personal piety reading discusses about how people should do things the way the prophet had intended for it to be done. It talked about the ways to follow islam the way the prophet did and by doing that people will begin to act with morality and integrity. It talks about that if you do not follow these teachings then its not neccesarily a bad thing but you will not be able to understand what personal piety is.

I read an article in the new york times about how the New York Police Department showed a film about muslims to over 1400 police officers. I talks about the terrorism that had struck during 9/11 and  other terrorists attacks. The article said  that the real agenda for Islamists in America is to infiltrate and dominate the country. The department said at first that it was shown to only a handful of officers, but that was false information because New York University had police records through the courts after many months of struggle.  Some found the film to be objectful while others found it offensive.

In response to studentsrockaroundtheworld that it is a shameful thing to read about. You never want to read about another person being killed or harmed in anyway. Islam is a peaceful religion but we cannot control what people do.  Im positive that God or the Quran teaches people about the killing of any person.
