In Class: Last week being my first class, I enjoyed it very much even if it was 6 hours long. When the professor is telling us the stories in a very detailed manner about Muhammad as a young boy I thought was cool because I felt like I was actually there. I kind of didn’t wan’t to leave when class was over, just wanted to keep listening to these stories because they are different and interesting.
Readings: The reading ” personal piety” I thought was a good thing to read to get an idea of what Muslim people are like. The reading shows how the Muslim people try very hard to do right and follow Muhammad’s footsteps. To me I saw similar characteristics between Muslims and Christians. They bot have much respect and faith in their leader figure, and try to do as they say as much as they can.
In response to studentsrockaroundtheworld I agree with you 100000% I don’t see how that act can be of “honor” in a religion like Islam. Just by reading and hearing how Muhammad acted and treated others, I’ve never saw any violence in him. Always peaceful, happy, and selfless towards others. And in that terrible event that you discovered is the opposite of Islam in my opinion.
Around the world: A small article that I came across while surfing the internet, something caught my eye. “Indigenous Australians have begun Embracing Islam in Large numbers”. Islam in Australia? Wow is all I can say to that. Is it me? Or is the just incredible. For this religion to be embraced by some of the people in Australia goes to show of how popular and interesting this religion actually is. It catches people eye, because it is actually a very peaceful religion. To treat others kindly, and bring peace to others is what it really is all about. And I think the world needs peace if you ask me.
