This past week we heard more about the life of the Prophet Muhammad.  The thing that stood out to me the most from the lecture was the Year of Sadness.  I could not even imagine losing three of the most important people in my life all in one year.  We also told a lot of jokes in class which made the time go by a lot faster.

I’m reading more in the book called Hadith and finding it more and more interesting.  Islam seems like such a vast religion but also a very strict one indeed.  I’m Catholic and I know that there are not that many rules for prayer as there are for Islam.

In The New York Times, there was an article that explained how two Muslim women were furious about a video shown to NYPD called “The Third Jihad.”  They felt that the film would convince NYPD to discriminate against all Muslim looking men and women.

In response to lightgreen111 sounds like a blast!  I’ve been to Vegas many times myself and have not really ever noticed the plethora of Muslim people there?  Maybe I was too sober to notice?  However, I did notice many people of the Indian decent walking around the strip.
