In class we talked more about Muhammad’s background.  What I found interesting is the fact Umar (Man who pledged to kill Muhammad) was not a part of the Quraysh.  Also the parallels of the BIble and these passages that some of it is supposed to be taken litteral and other parts it’s to get a point across so it might be a little exaggerated.

There was a lot in this reading however, a bit easier to read than the past ones.  I am finding more and more parallels to my own faith.  Through reading all the passages along with the in class discussions.  I’m still trying to grasp what did Muhammad fulfill, everything that he fulfilled.

I’ve been trying to look up some traditional food that Muslim’s eat.  I really haven’t had any luck but I’m trying to find some fun meals to cook and I thought something like this would be interesting.  If anyone has any suggestions that would be appreciated.

Wiseguy: I think that the interfaith marriages is a traditional way of life.  Seeing as in the past if you weren’t a part of the town religion you were most likely a traveler passing through.  Obviously the father’s blessings would not be granted if an outsider was trying to marry in.  In modern society the difficulty is raising a family if both parents are very strong in different faiths.
