During the last class, we made some jokes. We also discussed the life of Muhammad. His journey to Mecca is one that I find fascinating. The obstacles he had to overcome and the traits he displayed throughout the entire Quaresh fiasco was inspiring. We also met in groups and were very very productive in those.
In the reading Glimpses of Muhammad’s Medinan decade, there was a different story told than what we have been taught in class. Stories of Muhammad’s teachings and presence were far different from what we have been taught in class or that I have heard throughout my life. The belief that Muhammad disliked the Jews is preposterous.
In related news to Islam, Xi Jinping, Chin’as vice president and probable next president, visited the United States this week. There were heated discussions over China’s veto of trades with Syria. Human rights and other trades issues were discussed during the Chinese vice president’s visit.
In response to dotdotdot12 and foxtrot2012, I agreee with both of you. The propaganda and false information that spreads like wildfire is only causing further issues and concerns.
