This week we continued talking more about the Prophet Muhammad. We continued talking more about his ongoing battle with the Quresh.  With so many followers now siding with Muhammad the Quresh decided to make peace with Muhammad by making a treaty. We also talked about life after Muhammads death and with that occuring there was a split between the Sunnis and Shiiites.

We were introduced in the new readings assigned which was the vision of Islam. In the introduction it talked about how important the holy book of the Quran is to the muslims and how much belief they have towards it.  We also had a Hadith reading in which it talked about the Shiites. It talked about how their was a gap between who were in the right of things and who was in the wrong of things mainly describing who is true and whos false. 

The NATO personnel were setting fire to bags filled with Korans and other sacred books of Islam interpretation at the Bagram Air Base. The books were saved by Afghans working around the area. The NATO commander in Afghanistan had issued an apolgy for these actions afterwards to the president of Afghanistan, the government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, and to the people of Afghanistan saying it was unintentional.

In response to beatlesbeatlesbeatles it is not said that one has to trim his nails it is a personal choice as to what they would want to do. In the readings it even says that you dont have to follow all the ways of Muhammad except you should follow his beliefs and guidelines toward the religion.
