Sadly this is our last week of blogs.  For sure taking his class again. Crazy, the different pillars of Islam are so interesting.  They are all about finding who you are and how to make you better.  As far as the strictness, I’m Catholic and I’ll say we have the strict rules but not the discipline. [...]

macbookuser1:  I agree the focus of the lecture was really interesting.  The different levels seemed to be based on awareness and humbleness.  I put in a lot of thought with it and found myself asking how do the 2nd level individuals think in a logical sense.  I feel that there would be a constant battle.  If [...]

My break was filled with diversity more or less.  My parents were asked to be the guardians of three girls from an African refugee family.   They were baptized and my parents were named god mother and father.  However, they have two brothers who I believe are muslim.  It is crazy how this famiy lives off [...]

Very entertaining class but I saw a lot of differences between the skits.  The groups had various versions of the same scripture.  The wording was very hard but I major points we not accurately depicted.  Once again I found undeniable similarities from Islam to my faith, just very interesting which parts are different.  Outside of [...]

I didn’t make it class but there is never a dull moment in that class so I assume it was very educational and insiteful.  Hopefully my group performed well, sorry I couldn’t be there group.  Looking forward to movies.  About this reading; I’m not exactly a poem person.  so I don’t think this reading pertained to [...]

In class we had a long debate; some people’s proposals were more logical than others.  I think the whole class is very open to what others have to say about their faith but have a very strong belief that isn’t going to be changed over one debate.  We started to watch Mooz-lum which is interesting.  [...]

In class Muhammad tried to protect his city by separating the Quraysh from his city so he taxed them if they entered.  We learned that the places were flipped when Muslims wanted to take a pilgrimage.  Instead of fighting Muhammad came with his followers unarmed which the Quraysh negotiated some steep terms.  Very biased, however [...]

In class we talked more about Muhammad’s background.  What I found interesting is the fact Umar (Man who pledged to kill Muhammad) was not a part of the Quraysh.  Also the parallels of the BIble and these passages that some of it is supposed to be taken litteral and other parts it’s to get a [...]
