I read an article today about a bomb that exploded in Pakistan in a very popular train station. The incident took place in the eastern city of Lahore. Pakistani police said a bomb blast killed at least three people and wounded about 20 at a railway station in the country’s east. Police official Manzoor Ahemd [...]

Last week in class, we discussed the different levels of faith in the Islamic paradigm. I found this very interesting. I believe that sub-consciously I have always thought that levels of spiritual enlightenment did exist, but the Islamic way of analyzing this concept was intriguing. I have learned about the basics of Buddhism, Judaism, Christianity, and [...]
No class last week. I agree with daisysimple in requesting a movie. I also would like to ask the Professor is he has seen my email or if I need to send another one. Let me know, thanks Professor Mozaffar. In response to snowmakesmehappy and thethingstheycarried728, I agree with faith being a personal ‘subject’. Everyone has [...]

During last class the groups performed their skits on the passage of the Quran. I was unable to to attend class due to a last minute mishap at work and was forced to stay late. I realize that I was not there, but I know that my group was able to perform beyond expectations. Had [...]
Today I read a story in the Wall Street Journal about protesters battling over whether or not to ban products imported from Israel at a cooperative grocery store in Brooklyn. I was not able to attend last class, but from what I have heard it was an interesting one. I have learned that I missed another exciting chapter of Muhammad’s journey and also a pretty heated discussion. I also heard that we started another movie, which I am extremely excited about. In the conclusion of [...]
In class we discussed more about Muhammad’s Journey. I am becoming more and more interested in all of the things he has accomplished. The similarities between him and Jesus are uncanny. The one difference that we did learn about was that Muhammad was given the option by God to use violence and protect his people. [...]

During the last class, we made some jokes. We also discussed the life of Muhammad. His journey to Mecca is one that I find fascinating. The obstacles he had to overcome and the traits he displayed throughout the entire Quaresh fiasco was inspiring. We also met in groups and were very very productive in those. In the [...]

I was unable to attend last weeks class because I was in Las Vegas for my 21st birthday. It was, as you can probably imagine, the time of my life. I may have lost a little bit of money, but i gained hundreds of memories. If there is anyone in the class that likes free [...]
